Sedona vortex attractions

While most of the visitors that come to Arizona visit the Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon is the state's second most visited attraction. The red rocks make it one of the most beautiful places in Arizona and maybe the world. Oak Creek Canyon is only a quick 90 minute drive from the Phoenix area. Many Phoenicians visit this area to beat the heat of summer. Highway 89A provides a scenic drive through the course of Oak Creek. Many overlooks, picnic areas, hiking trails and even swimming holes line the length of Oak Creek. Take your camera, a picnic lunch and good hiking boots and enjoy your day. Don't forget your fly rod as there are many places where you can land trout.
You can just drive the canyon or hike in many of the area's numerous hiking trails. We recommend stopping to hike to get the best photographs of the area. There are also quite a few "vista" pullouts.
How to get there: Drive south from Flagstaff on AZ 89A, go14 miles to Oak Creek Canyon Vista and then another 13 miles more into Sedona. Turn east 11 miles on AZ 179 to I-17 and then 40 miles back to Flagstaff.
