Cathedral Rock

Cathedral Rock is topped by two spires that resemble a man and woman with a large saddle in between that offers spectacular views of both the east and west of Sedona and is one of the most photographed places in Arizona. How do I get to Cathedral Rock? If you're coming from the Phoenix area, just take the main north south corridor highway,I-17 north to Hwy 179 (exit 298). Turn left onto 179 and follow it all the way past the Village of Oak Creek, then past Bell rock and into a residential area. Look to the left for a you'll find a large sign on the left that reads "Back O' Beyond". Make another left here and you will find a parking lot about 1/2 mile. Hike the dry wash and follow the stone piles (cairns) up to the top. Make sure you take enough water for your hike.
